Discussed is the phenomena of patriotism in its historical philosophical development, as well as in connection with state of science and education in contemporary Russia. The author strives to show heterogeneity of understanding of that occurrence in history of the country, as well as to elaborate connection of patriotism with necessity of development of science and education in contemporary Russia.
